From Vision to Reality: GDA APP First Release Unveiled at ESRIN
On October 23-24, the first release of the Analytics & Processing Platform was presented to representatives of the Global Development Assistance (GDA) programme at ESRIN’s iconic Science Hub during the project’s Acceptance Review meeting.
The Platform aims to support the uptake of satellite EO-derived information in international development operations by providing ten initial EO Capabilities that address a variety of environmental monitoring needs, such as water resource management, extreme climate events, urban and land-use change analysis. Inspired by open science principles, all of them are open-source, scalable, and reusable.
During the Review, the three main service tiers of the APP were showcased:
The positive feedback on the release was encouraging for the team, led by MEEO and including GeoVille, EarthPulse, and GMV. This milestone marks a major achievement, but the journey is far from over: GDA APP is set to officially launch in Q1 2025, and we are eager to see it grow and drive real impact in global development!
